Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Okay, I know "whole wheat" and "chocolate chip cookies" don't sound like they should go together, but I promise you that these are the best chocolate chip cookies! Just try them and see for yourself.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter
1/2 cup natural chunky peanut butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla
4 eggs
2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking soda
4 cups whole wheat flour
4 cups oats
3 cups chocolate chips

Mix everything together. Bake at 350 for about 17 minutes, depending on the size you make them. Serve with cold milk! :)

Megan, I am always looking for whole wheat recipes, I have tried so many other cookies with whole wheat, but have always been wary of chocolate chip, I thought that they had to be "white and delightsome". Thankyou!

Yeah, I think the wheat flour isn't as noticeable because of the oats and the peanut butter... they really are yummy cookies. Tell me what you think of them after you've had a chance to try them.

I will have to try these. I know my Dad uses whole wheat flour in his cookies and they aren't bad. Now I just have to grind some wheat.

I got all the ingredients.
I'm assuming these are Old FAshioned oats, and not the quick cooking kind?
HOw many does this make? It looks like a lot.

Heffalump, these are really good... I hope you like them!

Carrot, I think you could probably use whatever kind of oats you have - old fashioned or quick. I can't remember which I've used. And, the recipe does make a lot... I think like 5 dozen or so. :)

Replace that "I got" with "I bought" or "I've got" ;)

I liked them.
Nicholas, on the other hand, said "These taste like raisins". I think he couldn't figure out the whole "oatmeal-whole wheat" thing, because I don't usually put those in there.

LOL! "These taste like raisins"... that's great! :)
